As summer yields to autumn, we gather in stillness. Through acupuncture, living plant music, and the wisdom of the Five Elements, we pause at Nature’s turning point, listening as Yang gently returns to Yin.
Throughout the event, we’ll listen as the subtle electrical activity of a living plant shapes an evolving musical landscape inspired by the Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Receive a 30-minute community acupuncture treatment as the music unfolds around you. Slow down, turn inward, and tune in to the rhythms of the natural world.
No previous experience with acupuncture or meditation is necessary.

A Tribute to Autumn, Metal, and Grief
Held just two days before the Autumn Equinox, this gathering takes place at a turning point in Nature. In Taoism, Autumn is when Yin begins to overtake Yang and the world moves toward stillness, turning inward, and letting go.
In Chinese Medicine, Autumn belongs to the Metal Element and is associated with the Lungs, breath, grief, and our capacity to release.
To honor the spirit of Autumn and Metal, this gathering is dedicated to my late grandmother, Lola Ofelia.
For the evening, I’ll connect a biofeedback device to a plant that stood outside her doorstep for decades. Its subtle electrical activity will shape a live, generative rendition of an album I made with a close friend: REN 17: TCM Five Element Sound Theory and Biofeedback.
REN 17, the “Sea of Qi,” is an acupuncture point at the center of the chest traditionally used to open the chest and free knotted Qi—a common expression of grief in Chinese Medicine. Together, through acupuncture, sound, and the rhythms of Nature, we’ll make space for our transition into Autumn: to breathe, remember, release, and honor what remains.
